The Art History, AA-T degree is designed as a seamless pathway for transfer to the California State University (CSU) in the area of Studio Art/Art with an Emphasis or Concentration in Art History. The study of art history provides students with a broad understanding of the period and regional cultures, how humanity has visually communicated, various methods for studying art objects and its relation to broader historic and social concerns. Students who continue on to a Bachelor's Degree in Art History may be prepared to write art criticism, work in the field of art publication, in public and non-profit art organizations, or in museums and galleries as registrars, preparators or curatorial assistants. Advanced degrees offer wider career opportunities in academia, museums, preservation, and auction houses.
