Nancy Valencia couldn’t afford a car. But through the collective efforts of the school, a local auto body shop, an insurance company and San Joaquin Delta College students, her children don’t have to take that dangerous journey any longer. Valencia was presented with a newly restored Honda Fit this spring.

At age 18, Cristal Harris was homeless, with no plans, no real goals, and no tools for success. Cristal's life would pivot in another direction at Delta College. Nine years later, she graduated from law school and returned to Delta's commencement ceremony to share her inspiring story of perseverance against all odds.

It's fair to say that Delta grads Chalia LaTour and Ceazar Cabreros aren't trying to make waves in Hollywood and the fashion industry — they already have!
