Delta College’s Pre-College Programs give high school students powerful ways to get ahead, whether you want to explore your interests, earn early college credit, or start building a pathway toward your future career. Through Dual Enrollment, College Early Start, and our Early College Pathways, you can take real college courses, gain valuable experience, and make a seamless transition from high school to college. These programs are designed to support your success, boost your confidence, and help you start college strong.
Dual Enrollment
Through our Dual Enrollment Program (DEP), you will take college courses at your high school campus. Your classmates will be your peers from your school or district only. Classes focus on College Transfer and Career Pathways and can earn you high school and college credits. If your high school offers Dual Enrollment courses, contact your counselor to find out how to enroll in available courses. You do not pay tuition or fees and are not charged for textbooks or classroom supplies. Textbooks are open source or provided for free.
May take up to 15 units per semester.
College Early Start
You may register for any courses offered at Delta College while in high school or in adult ed school, as a College Early Start (CES) student, if you meet prerequisites. You may take "regular" Delta classes on campus or online. College Early Start allows you to take courses for college credit only. Each school determines whether high school credit will be granted for classes completed at Delta. As a high school student, you pay no tuition or fees, but you are responsible for the cost of textbooks and class supplies.
May take up to 11 units per semester.
Early College Pathway
Early College Pathway (ECP) is an award-winning premiere program designed to help high school students earn a two-year degree. Participants receive cohort style learning, with a pre-vetted pattern of courses which help students complete their goals while reducing the stress of the college experience. Enrolling and completing college units through the ECP program provides families significant tuition savings.
CTE Transition
Our CTE Transitions are for grades 9 - 12 and provide you with a planned sequence of study in a career technical field as well as the opportunity to earn college credit while still in high school.
