- We offer in-person tutoring with a peer tutor both by appointment and first-come-first-served drop-in options.

Monday- Thursday: 10:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Friday: 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Tuesday-Thursday: 12:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
How Tutoring works:
Tutors can help students in person, on zoom, or by email submission with writing assignments for any class. Tutors can help with brainstorming, crafting a thesis, reviewing sentence structure and grammar issues, and inserting citations and works cited pages. The tutor cannot correct or edit student papers, but will help the student understand how to go about revising their areas of concern.
Drop-in & Appointment Policies:
Drop-in (first come, first served) and appointment-based tutoring sessions last 25-55 minutes. Students can work with a writing tutor up to one hour. This time can be split into (4) 25-minute sessions, or (2) 55-minute sessions. Students may make one appointment at a time. If a student makes appointments and no-shows twice, their ability to make appointments will be rescinded for that semester, but they can still drop in.
Submitting a Paper for Feedback Through Email:
The writing center also also offers an option to submit a paper via email and a tutor will give brief written feedback on the issues you are most concerned about. Please note that this is not equivalent to a full session with a tutor in-person or on Zoom, as you will not be able to ask real-time questions. The turn around time, depending on volume of submissions, is 1-3 business days (M-F). To submit a paper via email, please follow the insructions below:
To submit a paper for feedback via email, students MUST include all of the following
- Student Information including Name (First and Last) and ID number
- Course name and instructor
- Copy of the writing prompt/topic for the assignment
- What the student would like the tutor to focus on (thesis, structure, paragraph construction, etc).
- A word document that contains the paper (no PDFs or other file types will be accepted)
Submissions to the Writing Success Center (WSC) email will receive a response in 1-3 business days within the tutors’ working hours. Students can submit the same assignment to the WSC for feedback a total of two times. Please be aware that our hours conform to the campus calendar, which means we are closed on weekends and district holidays.
Please know that Delta College tutors spend 30 minutes on essays submitted via email in an effort to help as many students as possible. Should additional tutoring be necessary, students will need to drop-in for live tutoring in-person or on zoom.
