Artist Statement:

I like making visually compelling ceramic objects that are usually covered with lots of glaze. I think that in today’s world of artistic expression there is a dearth of an important quality that I call intrinsic wonderfulness.

While not easy to define we usually recognize intrinsic wonderfulness when we see it.

My goal is to cram my works with as much intrinsic wonderfulness as they can hold without blowing up in the kiln or shattering upon cooling

I hope you will agree that my piece in this years Visions in Clay exhibition epitomizes intrinsic wonderfulness and its corollary, good-natured zippyness.
