Bio:

I have worked in education since 1990. My very first job after I graduated from college was as an Academic Advisor here at Delta College. Some of the other positions I have held include Division Dean of Humanities, Social Sciences, Education, Kinesiology and Athletics (aka HSSEKA...how do you say that?), Director of Forensics (not CSI forensics, but speech and debate), Professor of Communication Studies (including 11 years as an adjunct professor), and Director of the Graduate School at CSU Stanislaus. I believe that creating opportunities for students to transform into adult citizens is the most important part of my job. We have a lot of issues that require all of us to be informed in order to solve them....Russia, responsible gun ownership, mistreatment of people in general (but especially immigrants), social justice, climate change, body autonomy, fascism, etc.

A little about me outside of Delta....I met my wife at Delta (she worked in admissions) in 1990. I have a son and daughter who both played Division 1 basketball and are now teachers...the apple doesn't fall far from the tree:) I was raised by my grandparents and grew up in Half Moon Bay. I played basketball, was in band, choir, and school plays in high school...none of which I can do now. I came to the Central Valley to play basketball at MJC and then CSU Stanislaus (go Warriors!).

My favorite things to do are play golf, watch political shows, go to the movies, and binge watch great tv series. Here are some of my all-time favorite shows: House (my favorite), Spartacus, The Wire, Six Feet Under, Bosch, Homeland, Hell on Wheels, The Last Kingdom, Vikings, Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, Big Brother, Married at First Sight, Survivor, Black Bird, Condor, Ted Lasso, Hacks, and Game of Thrones (which I have watched 3 times).

That's a little about me and I hope to get to know a little about you if you take any of my classes.
