Rocio Ochoa is one of the Resource Specialist in the Arts, Humanities, and Multimedia (& Library) TrAC. Rocio was born in Mexico and raised in California. Both her parents graduated with their GED from Delta College and pursued a better life because of it. Rocio is the first in her family to attend and graduate from college. Rocio graduated from Tokay High School and attended Delta College Fall of 2001 and was part of an amazing support community, Puente. While at Delta, she received her A.A. Degree in Liberal Arts and Science.
While Rocio attended college, she worked and had all her children; she was 8 months pregnant with her first son when I earned my B.A. in Psychology from Stan State. She had her daughter during graduate school. She was 9 months pregnant with her second son when she earned her M.S. in Counseling with a specialization in Career Counseling from Sac State. It was not easy having to juggle a family, college and work but she worked hard to accomplish her goal. In graduate school, Rocio interned at several locations, Sac State’s College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP), Math Engineering Program (MEP), Florin and El Sereno High School. After graduate school, she worked for John Muir Charter School/Sacramento Regional Conservation Corps (SRCC) and Bear Creek High School.
One of Rocio’s long -term goals has been to come back to where she first started, Delta College. Here she found so much support and is very excited to be a Resource Specialist and be part of an amazing team in which we all want the same goal, Student Success!!
