In 2017 or 2018, I noticed a spot in my left and right eye, and within two weeks I basically had no vision, just peripheral vision. I looked into the Culinary Arts program at Delta, and I had people in my life telling me, ‘Well, you can’t do that.’ But I’ve never been one to ‘what if’ a situation. I’ve always wanted to tackle it head on and try. The biggest advice I would give is, don’t be afraid to fail. Get off the couch and do it. Try it.

As a Baking and Pastry major, participating in this CTE program and internship has given me real-world experience working in our on-campus bakery and café, strengthening my skills and knowledge while preparing me for a future career in the food industry. It's been both fun and challenging at times, but I have learned a lot, and I still am.
