Eligible Majors
MESA serves economically disadvantaged students who are enrolled in math and science-based majors, such as:
- Health Science
- Biology
- Chemistry
- Math
- Computer Science
- Physics

Academic Requirements
- You must be transferring to a four-year university.
- Your education plan must indicate intent to enroll in a minimum of two sequential courses or calculus, physics, chemistry, or biology.
- You must be ready for elementary algebra to qualify.
- You must complete a MESA student application.
- You must complete a three-year educational plan with a Delta counselor that is updated each semester.
- You must participate in MESA activities and sign the MESA student contract.

Income Criteria
You must also meet one or more of the following requirements:
- Eligible for EOPS.
- Eligible for the Community College Promise Grant (Fee Waiver).
- Be a parent/guardian/student on TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, formerly AFDC).
- Be a CalWorks participant (transfer must be the goal).
- Receive need-based financial aid.
- Be a first-generation college student.
