Know Your Rights
Everyone living in the United States is guaranteed certain basic rights under the U.S. Constitution — and that includes undocumented immigrants. It’s essential that we all understand these basic rights.

Dreamers Success Center
Did you know Delta College has a space dedicated entirely to supporting undocumented students? The Dreamers Success Center allows everyone to pursue higher education regardless of immigration status. Services include:
- Free legal consultations
- Mentorship programs
- I Am/Yo Soy club supporting immigrant students

Know Your Rights
Delta College has established procedures for employees to follow in the event immigration agents come to campus. These steps are:
- Ask the person’s name and organization.
- Escort them to the Office of the Superintendent/President in Admin 103.
- Stay calm and be professional.
- Do not physically interfere.
- Explain that state law and College policies do not allow you to share information about students.
- Once you have escorted an officer to the President’s Office, contact the District Police Department at (209) 954-5000.

Student Privacy
We care about your privacy! With very limited exceptions, Delta College does not release student information to the general public. We release only the following:
- Participation in officially recognize activities and sports;
- Weight, height, and high school of graduation for athletic team members
- Degrees and awards received, such as honors, scholarships, athletic awards, and Dean’s List recognition.
We do not release any other information unless requested by a military recruiter per federal law, or in compliance with subpoenas or court orders. You have the right to restrict the release of the information items listed above by submitting a request in writing to the Admissions and Records Office.
Board Resolutions
Delta College trustees on December 17, 2025 approved the following resolution reaffirming Delta's designation as a sanctuary college, "committed to protecting the rights, dignity, and well-being of all students."
Delta College trustees on April 15, 2025 approved the following resolution "reaffirming (Delta's) support of undocumented and LGBTQIA+ students, and continuing to welcome, support and celebrate all as equal members of the college community and our broader society."
