Delta College supports immigrant and undocumented students! This page includes important information about what students or employees should do if immigrant agents come to campus, along with links to hard copy materials that can be printed out for future reference.
For Students
If approached by an immigration agent anywhere at Delta College:
- Do not answer any questions.
- Do not sign any papers without first speaking to a lawyer.
- Ask if you are free to leave, and if they say yes, leave calmly.
- Do not interfere with or physically resist an agent.
- Call campus police at (209) 954-5000 or seek out the nearest blue light emergency phone.
Remember:
- A plan is in place if immigration agents visit campus.
- We value your privacy and release very little information about our students unless required by law.
- Delta College police DO NOT enforce federal immigration law.

For Employees
What to do if someone asks for information about a student or employee:
- Do not release any information.
- Ask the person's name and organization. Escort them to the office of the Superintendent/President in Admin 103 or call Delta College police.
- If the Superintendent/President is not available, escort the office to one of the following locations:
- Assistant Superintendent/Vice President of Instruction, Admin 102
- Assistant Superintendent/Vice President of Student Services, Admin 107
- Vice President of Administrative Services, Forum 201
- Stay calm and be professional. Do not physically interfere. Explain that state law and College policies do not allow you to share information about students.
- Once you have escorted an officer to the President's Office, contact the District Police Department at (209) 954-5000.
