Sisters in Success
Sisters In Success (S.I.S.) is a mentorship and cultural enrichment program designed to support Black/African/African American women students at Delta College. Our goals are to: build and nurture relationships; strengthen mental, emotional, and physical health; provide culturally responsive enrichment; develop student study groups; enhance community involvement; and improve academic success rates for Black/African/African American female students at Delta College. S.I.S. participants attend monthly meetings, form strong sisterhoods with other Black women at Delta, experience special events, attend presentations and speaker workshops, and attend an annual HBCU tour!

One of the most exciting components of the S.I.S. program is our annual HBCU trip! It is our goal to expose S.I.S. participants to a variety of experiences that strengthen their commitment to their education and future careers. S.I.S. ladies traveled to Atlanta, Ga to visit Spelman and Clark Universities in 2025, and in 2026 we are going to New Orleans to tour Xavier and Dillard!
General Field Trips
S.I.S. ladies attend field trips and events such as a Fall retreat experience at Sac State’s Peak Adventures, musical performances and theater excursions like “Drumline Live”, opportunities for community service, and more!
Monthly Online Mental Health Workshops
S.I.S. ladies participate in monthly online mental health workshops provided by “Hayes Healing”, a Black woman-owned consulting service.
S.I.S. ladies benefit
S.I.S. ladies benefit from our “SiStar Spotlights” which feature Delta College faculty, administrators, and staff as well as local professionals who share their experiences and advice on becoming a successful Black woman.
