A student and her child pose for a photo outside one of the new lactation pods.

In an effort to support students and employees who are breastfeeding, Delta College has installed five lactation pods that are now in use at facilities across the College.

These pods, manufactured by Mamava, offer private and secure spaces for nursing or pumping, with comfortable chairs and power outlets for breast pumps.

The new pods are available to those who prefer to use them, but their use is not required. Under California law, a mother may breastfeed their child in a public or private location where they are authorized to be present.

Locations

Lactation pods are located on the Stockton campus in Danner Hall, the DeRicco Student Services Building, and Goleman Library. Pods are also located at South Campus at Mountain House and the Manteca Farm.

For specific locations and hours of operation, visit www.deltacollege.edu/lactating-and-breastfeeding-resources.

Access

For privacy and security, an access code is required to use the lactation pods. To request an access code, please complete the Lactation Pod Access Request Form. If you have questions or have difficulty accessing the form, please contact lactationsupport@deltacollege.edu.

Lactation Room

In addition to the pods, Delta College will continue to offer a lactation room at the Child Development Center for students, staff, and faculty. The lactation room offers private space for pumping or breastfeeding, including electrical outlets and a sink. Please bring your ID when visiting for the first time. For hours, please visit the Child Development Center page.

We're thankful for this opportunity to better support student parents and make it just a little easier to continue their studies while also caring for their little ones.
