The mission of Faculty Caucus of Asian Pacific Equity is to recognize and advocate for the diversity in the Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Americans (AANHPI) community, promote racial equality, combat racism, elevate AANHPI voices, assist AANHPI students in their pursuit of higher education, and help to make Delta College and the community a more inclusive, equal, and welcoming place for AANHPI.

 

Goals of the FCAPE

  • Support Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Americans (AANHPI) faculty, managers, staff, and students.  
  • Increase Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Americans (AANHPI) visibility through events, presentations, and committee work.
  • Promote hiring of Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Americans (AANHPI) faculty, managers, and staff.
  • Increase course offerings on Asian American Studies and Asian and Pacific histories and languages.  
  • Advocate for Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Americans (AANHPI) experiences and contributions to become an integral part of the curriculum in a wide range of courses such as composition, literature, art, religion, music, math, and science.  
  • Assist the college in providing training in combating anti-Asian racism.

History of FCAPE


FCAPE was established in June 2021 to address historical discrimination, anti-Asian hate and violence, and institutional racism against AANHPI.
