Biography


Taryn McCabe is a multidiscipline artist and teacher. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Fine Art from Alfred University in Alfred, NY. After undergrad she moved to London, England where she studied shoemaking at Cordwainers at the London College of Fashion. Later, she went on to pursue her MFA at San Francisco State University. She also studied jewelry making and art in Florence, Italy. McCabe has taught classes in art and jewelry for decades. She wrote a book on jewelry making titled, New Stamped Metal Jewelry. This is McCabe’s first year teaching at Delta and it has been exciting working with the dynamic students at Delta College.  
 

Artist Statement

My artwork tells a story about domesticity, femininity, craft, and history. I particularly like looking at feminine stereotypes to better understand how to undermine the system and emphasize the value of women.
