Artist Statement
My work explores the oscillation between reality and otherworldly places, guided by a need to transform my surroundings into enchanting spaces. Parts and pieces of pastel dreams emerge as spectral echoes of semi-corporeal creatures inhabiting an in-between place—a dreamlike mezzanine where these elements intersect with the planes of reality, shaping an alternate realm called SP4RKL3_FiLTH_CL0UD_NiN3. Through making and storytelling, I actualize each creature with purpose while dreaming of how they contribute to the ecosystem of our etheric world. This process brings clarity, revealing a unique visual language that decodes the elemental resonance of these artifacts and their connection to the world around me. By growing together with the lore of another world, I reconcile the fragmented narratives I once used to define myself. In doing so, SP4RKL3_FiLTH_CL0UD_NiN3 becomes a space for navigating my queer experience, where effulgent ecologies coalesce to create a place for reconstructing myself in alignment with the creatures that inhabit it.”
