Artist Statement
Love, community, connection, & intimacy comes through in this piece. The forget-me-not flowers, embedded as a rosette at the crown, emphasizes remembrance and a devotion to love. The overall structure and 3-dimensional details are inspired by old downtown Stockton buildings in a contemporary setting, drawing inspiration from my hometown. I build off of what I find beautiful around me, from intricate ornamentation to rusty chains and broken fences. I take it all in. I etch and paint love onto these walls and wish for more healing and support in the community around us. Love, community, connection, & intimacy comes through in this piece.
