Artist Statement
My work is an exploration of belief systems, technological progress, ritual and apophenia (or the tendency for humans to find false patterns in random noise). Other topics such as cults, conspiracy theories, and propaganda also inform the work.
Mountain Vase was created via hand-building techniques (primarily coils) and then decorated with a copper glaze and black underglaze. The surface illustration depicts a never-ending pilgrimage.
