Artist Statement
I Think a Part of Me is You ceramic vessels have been uncooperative throughout every step of the creating process. They have collapsed on the wheel, been carved too thin, developed hairline cracks during the drying process, have had pieces broken off during the bone-dry stage. They have exploded in the kiln, they broke apart during glazing, and have come apart post firing. I have kept them alive despite everything. One part of the vessel is a part of the other. Just like how there are parts of you that make up me. Or maybe there are parts of me that make up the two vessels. Pink and Blue stand proud despite everything that has come their way.
