Delta College is moving forward with a major network improvement project designed to strengthen reliability and create a better online experience for students, employees, and the community!
As part of this project, the entire Delta College network will be taken offline on Friday, February 13 at the start of the five-day weekend.
If you are off campus
Impacts should be minimal. Most cloud-based systems are expected to remain available, including:
- MyDelta
- Delta College website and intranet
If you are on campus
You should expect a full loss of network-dependent services during the outage, including:
- No Wi-Fi
- No desk phones
- No hard-wired computer connections
- Heating and air conditioning systems will be offline
How will this affect you?
If you are accessing services from off campus, you should be able to use Canvas and other cloud-based tools referenced above from your MyDelta Dashboard.
In Case of Emergency
While the network is down, Delta College Police Department phones will not function, nor will the emergency blue light phones scattered across campus. If you have an emergency, please call 911.
Thank you!
Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we complete this important milestone in improving Delta’s network!
Heat has been restored to the Stockton campus. Normal operations on Monday, Jan. 26.
Our Facilities team has identified a leak in Stockton campus’s hydronic lines. As a result, heating is currently unavailable in the majority of our buildings.
We are working on this issue actively. At this time, we do not have an estimated completion timeline. Please know that addressing this issue is our highest priority.
Currently, we are seeing moderate temperatures inside most campus buildings. We expect that those temperatures will drop as the afternoon progresses.
Deans are contacting faculty to discuss options for those sections which are scheduled to be on campus this evening and tomorrow morning. Faculty will be able to determine what makes the most sense for their sections at this time and have been asked to communicate with their students to inform them of the situation. Faculty will determine the best path forward for their sections and have been asked to communicate directly with their students regarding specific plans.
Please note: No student will be penalized or dropped from a course if they are unable to attend due to the lack of heat on campus.
We will provide an update as new information becomes available or by Sunday evening. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to restore full heating service across campus.
