Heat has been restored to the Stockton campus. Thanks to our Facilities team for their hard work, and to students and employees for their patience!

Unfortunately, the repair completed yesterday to an underground heating pipe on the north side of campus did not hold. Heat remains unavailable in most buildings, and we are actively exploring alternative solutions.
With outside temperatures rising into the mid-to-upper 60s — and possibly topping 70 degrees later this week — the weather is considerably warmer than when the campus closure began last week.
As a result, Delta College will remain open this week.
We recognize that, despite the milder weather, some classrooms may feel quite cool. We recommend dressing warmly.
Also, three “warm rooms” have been established for anyone who would like to use them:
Danner 107 (Mustang Room) – open to everyone
Danner 103 (Staff Lounge) – for staff use only
Goleman 222 (Faculty Reading Room) – for faculty use only
These three rooms will be open and available all day Wednesday and Thursday.
This has been a frustrating situation, and we sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding as our Facilities team continues working toward a solution.
Crews are completing repairs to an underground heating pipe, and we plan to restore heat in the morning.
Accordingly, the Stockton campus will reopen on Tuesday, Feb. 24, and resume normal operations.
Please note that once the heat is turned on, it will take some time for indoor temperatures to reach comfortable levels. We recommend dressing warmly.
Thank you for your patience and understanding during this closure.
Crews are still working to repair a leak to an underground heating pipe. As a result, the Stockton campus will remain closed through Monday, Feb. 23, with an expected reopening on Tuesday, Feb. 24.
This closure includes all programs, services, and events scheduled on the Stockton campus, except:
- POST Academy
- Athletics events will be held as scheduled
- The Child Development Center will remain open during regular business hours, as it has heat from another source.
The protocol remains the same as last week:
Classified Professionals: Employees who can work from home are expected to do so. Please contact your immediate supervisor with any questions or concerns.
Faculty: Please move classes online or provide alternative assignments if possible and communicate directly with your students regarding any adjustments.
Students: Please do not come to the Stockton campus for classes or services on Monday and be sure to check your email and Canvas for updates from professors, as some classes may be meeting online at their regularly scheduled times.
We will provide an additional update on Monday.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as our Facilities team works to restore heat to campus.

Delta College is moving forward with a major network improvement project designed to strengthen reliability and create a better online experience for students, employees, and the community!
As part of this project, the entire Delta College network will be taken offline on Friday, February 13 at the start of the five-day weekend.
If you are off campus
Impacts should be minimal. Most cloud-based systems are expected to remain available, including:
- MyDelta
- Delta College website and intranet
If you are on campus
You should expect a full loss of network-dependent services during the outage, including:
- No Wi-Fi
- No desk phones
- No hard-wired computer connections
- Heating and air conditioning systems will be offline
How will this affect you?
If you are accessing services from off campus, you should be able to use Canvas and other cloud-based tools referenced above from your MyDelta Dashboard.
In Case of Emergency
While the network is down, Delta College Police Department phones will not function, nor will the emergency blue light phones scattered across campus. If you have an emergency, please call 911.
Thank you!
Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we complete this important milestone in improving Delta’s network!
Heat has been restored to the Stockton campus. Normal operations on Monday, Jan. 26.
Our Facilities team has identified a leak in Stockton campus’s hydronic lines. As a result, heating is currently unavailable in the majority of our buildings.
We are working on this issue actively. At this time, we do not have an estimated completion timeline. Please know that addressing this issue is our highest priority.
Currently, we are seeing moderate temperatures inside most campus buildings. We expect that those temperatures will drop as the afternoon progresses.
Deans are contacting faculty to discuss options for those sections which are scheduled to be on campus this evening and tomorrow morning. Faculty will be able to determine what makes the most sense for their sections at this time and have been asked to communicate with their students to inform them of the situation. Faculty will determine the best path forward for their sections and have been asked to communicate directly with their students regarding specific plans.
Please note: No student will be penalized or dropped from a course if they are unable to attend due to the lack of heat on campus.
We will provide an update as new information becomes available or by Sunday evening. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to restore full heating service across campus.
Due to an ongoing lack of heat, the Stockton campus will be open for essential services only on Thursday, January 8, 2026.
