Why are you interested in becoming an ASDC Officer?
Not only do I wish to partake and help the community that I belong to (that being Delta College), I wish to make an impact full change in the everyday lives of the students here. I feel deeply proud of this diverse and ever-changing community I am a part of, and I want to give back in the best way possible by becoming an ASDC officer. Though I've met only a fraction of people who attend Delta college, those who I have met come from so many different backgrounds. I adore listening to their stories and understanding them on a much deeper level. So many of the people have motivated me and made me feel truly welcomed, despite being so different from my own culture/background. In response, by becoming an ASDC officer, I can give back to all those who have helped me and those who I have yet to meet. I want to further amplify the variety of voices here at Delta, no matter the circumstances they face.

With the duties and responsibilities in mind, explain your ability to commit to being an ASDC Officer?
Though I am not perfect, I can say with absolute certainty that I can commit to being an ASDC officer, particularly the president and vice president roles. Throughout the continuous rise in my grades (From a high school freshman to an incoming college sophomore) I’ve been able to continuously add activities while maintaining my grades and personal activities. Additionally, I am an effective planner, and I always plan my days down to the minute if possible. Despite having such strict schedules, I still manage to be flexible in times of need. With this in mind, I also ensure to arrive on time for my classes and stay for the whole time. I can always come up with solutions in intense situations (such as disagreements) and can further plan ahead, which is something I learned from having to live in a house with 11 other siblings when I was young.

Snigdha Poreddy

Running for Senator of South Campus

Why are you interested in becoming an ASDC Officer?
My primary motivation for running for South Campus Senator is to bridge the gap between the Stockton and Mountain House campuses. As a student who primarily goes to the South Campus for my classes, I have noticed that we lack the same immediate access to resources. I am passionate about ensuring that South Campus students feel like a full integrated part of San Joaquin Delta College and I want to advocate for increased academic support services and localized campus events. My goal is to serve as a consistent, direct government presence who will bring the concerns of Mountain House students to the ASDC Board, ensuring student's voices are heard and prioritized.

With the duties and responsibilities in mind, explain your ability to commit to being an ASDC Officer?
I am fully prepared to meet the commitments required of an ASDC Officer. My experiences as a student-athlete taking classes at my high school and Delta through the College Early Start Program have taught me to be disciplined and manage my time effectively. My leadership in clubs at my high school also taught me how to organize, create, and direct large projects by myself. Additionally, since I'm located near the Mountain House campus I will be able to easily get to the area quickly and spend time there to engage personally with students at the campus. I view this role as my top priority and will bring dedication and enthusiasm to governing the South Campus and being part of the ASDC Board.

Why are you interested in becoming an ASDC Officer?
As a current ASDC officer, I would like to continue serving the students of SJDC, and the community.

During this semester, I have had the privilege of serving as a Senator at Large 1 and as Senator for College Relations. Both taught me that what I really want to focus on how to best serve the students and to understand their needs. That can only be done by reaching out to as many of them as possible. Meeting them in person, on all campuses, and meeting with as many different students as possible.
I would like to foster more collaboration with our clubs, and help spread responsibilities between all officers, so that everyone works towards a common goal while maintaining a balanced student experience. As a woman who has seen many sunrises, I bring a unique skill set to the table, such as lived experiences, accumulated knowledge, and the benefit of having faced a multitude of firsthand encounters, which have helped me develop into an exceptionally strong and fair minded individual.

Also, I truly enjoy being an ASDC officer!

With the duties and responsibilities in mind, explain your ability to commit to being an ASDC Officer?
Since becoming an ASDC officer, I have never missed a meeting. I have a solid attendance record, am accustomed to balancing my schoolwork with my duties, and event participation. I have been the proxy for several roles and am a proven team player. I also learned how to better utilize Teams, and to use a variety of calendars. In fact, a huge white board is now mounted on the ASDC office wall just so we can post meetings and events to help everyone stay on track, especially me. I know that I am a student first, but have also learned to choose classes that do not conflict with scheduled meetings. In addition, I learned my lesson about overcommitting and refuse to ever do that again. I will not be an officer for ICC next year and hope to be a regular club member, rather than an officer in the clubs with which I am affiliated.

Again, I currently balance ASDC-where I run a weekly program, committees, ICC, two clubs, a job, and my personal life. I only take three classes, but they're all English courses. I now have excellent time management skills.

Why are you interested in becoming an ASDC Officer?
I am interested to serve because I bring a breath of leadership experience to the table.  As a retired USAF Veteran, I've coordinated meetings and training not only in the unit level but Wing/Base level.  I've spoken before Air Force leadership in regards to Anti-Terrorism, Top Secret/Classified briefings.  As an Air Force Senior Non-Commissioned Officer, I was the training lead of a police unit of 300 Military Police.  I am comfortable speaking and teaching in front of younger and older people.  Having faced that kind of intense pressure and performed exemplary is a testament as to why I would like to serve my school.  I would bring an older/experienced perspective to this position.

With the duties and responsibilities in mind, explain your ability to commit to being an ASDC Officer?
I am fully retired 100 percent disabled veteran.  I currently work part time and make my own schedule.  I would be able to work my schedule to fully participate in my position.

Sofia Stewart-Lopez

Running for  Senator-at-Large

Why are you interested in becoming an ASDC Officer?
I am excited and eager to join the ASDC board to amplify youth voices who have endured isolation and mental health challenges throughout their youth. Navigating my health conditions has changed me in many meaningful ways because it taught me how to stay committed to things even when my body makes everyday tasks harder. Because of this, I am more empathetic towards the silent struggles that so many people go through daily, especially with the ones that are not always visible. As a student leader, this has helped me create more inclusive spaces and support my peers with more compassion and a deeper understanding. Instead of letting these obstacles stop me, they have filled me with the strength and determination to succeed. My passion for advocacy aligns with Delta’s values of inclusion, equity, and social justice. With the support of ASDC, I can turn youth voices into a lasting impact on and off campus. By bridging the gap between fear and empowerment, I look forward to creating a lasting change in our community with your consideration.

With the duties and responsibilities in mind, explain your ability to commit to being an ASDC Officer?
I am absolutely committed to being an ASDC officer, which stems from my background in volunteerism and community service. I have always had a passion for uplifting vulnerable voices. Serving as a 2025-2026 Stockton Scholars Delta College Ambassador, an official SJCOE volunteer with the Human Trafficking End it Alliance, a Safe Schools Summit panelist, Lincoln High School United Student Body’s Junior Class Secretary in 2024 and Senior Class Vice President in 2025, I learned to use teamwork and organization to create engaging workshops and presentations. These experiences have shaped me into a resilient leader committed to making a difference, which I plan to carry into office as an ASDC Senator-at-Large. Additionally, because I speak Spanish, I can bring a more informed lens to cultural competency and policy analysis, ensuring underrepresented youth and students, just like me, are heard, understood, and valued. Through my lived experience, extensive advocacy training, and unwavering commitment to equity, inclusion, and social justice, I will work alongside the other ASDC officers to produce more student-driven initiatives, expanding access and awareness to student services, and continue to help to make our mark in our community and throughout California.

Why are you interested in becoming an ASDC Officer?
I am interested in becoming an ASDC Officer because I want to contribute to a more supportive, student-centered campus environment during my final year Delta. My involvement in the community though volunteer and intern roles at non-profit organizations and student support centers has shown me how crucial it is for students to have leaders who communicate clearly, manage resources responsibly, and advocate for student needs.

As a business and accounting student, I am especially drawn to roles like Treasurer and Secretary because they allow me to apply my strengths in organization, communication, and financial responsibility in a meaningful way. I want to help ensure that ASDC's resources, events, and decisions directly reflect the needs of our diverse student body, and I am motivated by the opportunity to leave a positive impact on the campus before transferring to a four-year university.

With the duties and responsibilities in mind, explain your ability to commit to being an ASDC Officer?
I am fully prepared to commit to the responsibilities outlined for ASDC officers. I have a strong track record of success in managing academic responsibilities, work, and community involvement with heavy consistency and reliability. My organizational skills, time management, and attention to detail align well with the expectations for both Treasurer and Secretary.

For Treasurer, I am comfortable handling financial records, preparing reports, overseeing fundraising, and communicating budget information clearly. These tasks align directly with my academic focus in business and accounting, and I am confident in my ability to complete them accurately and on schedule.
For Secretary, I am equally prepared to manage communication, maintain records, coordinate office operations, and support the internal structure of ASDC. I already communicate regularly with staff and student centers, and I am comfortable handling administrative tasks with professionalism, as I have done before for the non-profit Community Partnership for Families of San Joaquin.

I understand that ASDC Officers must attend weekly meetings, serve on committees, and complete ongoing responsibilities throughout the semester. I have structured my academic schedule to ensure I can meet these expectations, and I am committed to being present, dependable, and fully engaged throughout my term.

Why are you interested in becoming an ASDC Officer?
At this point in time, I believe that I am able to bring a lot of valuable assets to the table with my persistence and knowledge of real-world situations, academic environments, and positive perspectives on life. My concern for my peers and community at large indicates my interest and intent to serve, learn, and advance my cultural society.

With the duties and responsibilities in mind, explain your ability to commit to being an ASDC Officer?
With the duties and responsibilities of both the Senator of Communications and Senator-at-large in mind, my sole objective would be that of rising to each and every occasion presented to me with my whole-heart and one hundred percent effort. I would work to ensure cohesive Student Body scenarios within Delta College to the very best of my human ability. I would create pleasant dealings day by day with my team of seven other Senator-at-Large (8 positions available) seats as well as, as Senator of Communications the inter-club/inter-mural sports and athletics organizations notwithstanding the city of Stockton in general. I would make every appropriation to remain steadfast and resolved in upright, excellent conduct and honesty.
