Important News! Some of the courses that you may be familiar with at Delta College now have different names and numbers associated with them, and more changes are coming with the publication of the Summer 2026 schedule of classes. Watch this page for updates!

 

About Course Numbers

The statewide Common Course Numbering effort is assigning the same names and numbers for certain courses across all community colleges, making it easier for transfer students to understand which classes they need to sign up for.

Course Prefixes

It’s also important to note that in addition to the specific courses mentioned below and in the attached flyer, the prefixes for all courses in the following subject areas are changing:

  • Communication Studies: Prefix changes from COM ST to COMM
  • English: Prefix changes from ENG to ENGL
  • Political Science: Prefix changes from POLSC to POLS
  • Psychology: Prefix changes from PSYCH to PSYC
  • Statistics: Prefix changes from STATS to STAT
