Admissions Steps

Completion of admission requirements does not constitute registration. Students applying to San Joaquin Delta College, regardless of location, are required to:

  1. Apply for Admission - Complete an online Application for Admission.  Assistance is available at the Delta Connect Center located on the first floor of the DeRicco Student Services Building;
  2. Submit Transcripts - Submit official transcripts from all previously attended U.S. regionally-accredited college or university. Transcripts must be sent directly from the institution, either electronically or by mail, to the Office of Admissions and Records;
  3. Placement for English and Math - All new students enrolling for the first time will receive placement for English and math based on their high school GPA and coursework. This information is collected through the application process and applied to the student’s record. Students who do not have access to high school transcript data will be eligible to enroll in college-level and transfer-level English and math with support classes. For more information, see the Placement web page.

Alternate ways to meet Placement Requirements:

  • Submit official transcripts to the Office of Admissions and Records showing successful completion of English and math courses at another U.S. regionally-accredited college or;
  • Submit official AP scores with qualifying results to the Office of Admissions and Records;
  • Complete the Guided Self-Placement tool for English as a Second Language (ESL) placement.
