About Psychiatric Technology

Want to make a difference in the lives of people navigating mental health challenges or developmental disabilities?

Delta College's Psychiatric Technician program prepares you to provide compassionate, hands-on care in hospitals, residential treatment centers, and other healthcare settings. You'll work under the supervision of doctors, nurses, and mental health professionals to support and advocate for individuals in need.

This one-year program (after completing prerequisites and being accepted into the program) combines nursing fundamentals with specialized mental health training. Upon graduation, you'll earn a certificate of completion and be eligible to take the California Psychiatric Technician Licensing Exam.
