Want to make a difference in the lives of people navigating mental health challenges or developmental disabilities?
Delta College's Psychiatric Technician program prepares you to provide compassionate, hands-on care in hospitals, residential treatment centers, and other healthcare settings. You'll work under the supervision of doctors, nurses, and mental health professionals to support and advocate for individuals in need.
This one-year program (after completing prerequisites and being accepted into the program) combines nursing fundamentals with specialized mental health training. Upon graduation, you'll earn a certificate of completion and be eligible to take the California Psychiatric Technician Licensing Exam.
Delta's program is one of only 10 approved Psychiatric Technician programs in the entire state, and graduates are in high demand, especially in correctional facilities and state hospitals. It is a powerful pathway to a meaningful and stable career in healthcare.
