Ethnic Studies examines the cultural, economic, political, and social experiences of Native American, Black/African American, Chicana/o and Latina/o, and Asian American people in the United States. Delta College is proud to offer these courses in Stockton, one of the most diverse cities in the country.
This area of study is so important that you are now required to take an Ethnic Studies course to complete an Associate Degree at a California community college. California State University also requires the completion of one Ethnic Studies course.
Ethnic Studies courses are developed and delivered by educators who reflect and represent the perspectives of our nation's diverse racial and ethnic groups. You'll learn about race and racism, ethnicity, equity, self-determination, and many other topics.
Ethnic Studies can lead to careers in education, law and politics, nonprofit organizations and many other options.
