About Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)

What could be more rewarding than a career serving community members when they need help the most?

In just 12 weeks, Delta College's Emergency Medical Technician program will prepare you to care for patients with respiratory, cardiac, or trauma emergencies.

Working as an EMT is a great first step toward becoming a paramedic, fire fighter, psychiatric technician or radiologic technician, among other health-related professions. These jobs are in high demand in the Central Valley.

No experience is required to sign up for Delta's EMT program, but you must be 18 years or older by the start date of the program that you apply for.

This program prepares students with entry-level skills and knowledge to practice in the role of a EMT in a pre-hospital setting. Students who complete the program will be qualified to take the National Registry EMT Exam (NREMT). After successfully passing the NREMT examination, students will be eligible for an EMT license in California.
