You'll study planet Earth and how it has evolved over time, drawing from many disciplines, including mathematics, chemistry, physics, and biology. You'll better understand Earth materials like rocks and minerals and the processes that form and change them, such as earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and flooding. 

You'll also examine the impacts on society as well as the challenges associated with water, energy and mineral resources.

 

General Education Requirements

In addition to an Associate Degree for Transfer in Geology, several of our courses fulfill general education requirements in following areas:

  • Physical Universe and its Life Forms (CSU GE requiremnts)
  • Area 5 - Physical and Biological Sciences (IGETC)

These courses also satisfy general education requirements for earning an Associate Degree from Delta College.
