ECE 32A Information

If you are planning to take ECE 32A. You will need to meet the requirements before emailing your professors to request permission to add the course.

Course Description: This class offices the students the ability to work side by side with a mentor/ host teacher in a preschool toddler class. 

 

Required Background Check 

Criminal background check clearance via Live Scan Fingerprinting (done once placement is determined) tied to CCL Licensed Program. 

 

Prior to Enrollment

Prerequisite Courses: Classes which must be passed with a Grade C or better

  • ECE 21
  • ECE 25
  • ECE 26
  • ECE 27
  • ECE 28
  • ECE 31A
  • ECE 31B

Mandated Health Immunizations/Screenings 

Need documentation of:

  1. Measles (MMR)
  2. Pertussis/Whooping cough (Tdap or Dtap)
  3. Negative Tuberculosis screening (Within 60 days of course start)
  4. Flu Shot (This one can be waived)

If you are unable to enroll in the ECE 32A section. You can take the following additional ECE Courses to Prepare your for ECE 32A. It is helpful if you have not worked with young children. 

  • ECE 29: Creative Expression and the Arts
  • ECE 30: Early Childhood Experiences - Language
  • ECE 40: Constructive Math and Science in ECE

 

Student Readiness

Ready and willing to:

  1. Plan, prepare, and carry out activities with young children 
  2. Attend weekly lectures
  3. Be in an ECE classroom setting 2-3 days each week
  4. Work side by side with teacher to carry out daily activities.
