With the duties and responsibilities in mind, my ability to commit to being an ASDC Officer is that I must complete a minimum of 4 mandatory office hours each week, to attend weekly Monday meetings from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and participate in special functions like the College Hour every third Thursday. on time commitments. I will act as the official student voice, collaborating with the college administration, voting on campus wide policies, managing the student budget, and serving on shared governance committees. I will be expected to organize events like Pachanga Presente or voter registration drives, manage the Mustang Pass discount program, and support campus initiatives like the Student Food Pantry. My ability to commit is anchored in disciplined time management and a genuine passion for peer advocacy. Balancing my heavy course load in working at the Warren Atherton Auditorium alongside club participation has proven that I can organize my schedule effectively under pressure because the boss sent me a work schedule every month. I have structured my academic calendar to attend Monday Board meetings, and required committee assignments according to my work schedule from the auditorium. I will organize impactful campus events and support student's rights everyday.

Manuel Rubio Moreno

Running Senator-at-Largefor Vice President
Why are you interested in becoming an ASDC Officer?
I am very interested in becoming an ASDC Officer as I have a fervent passion for serving the San Joaquin Delta college community as it has done so my family. Delta has done many incredible things for not just myself but for my family. My family immigrated to the United States when I was 4, and coming here we faced many challenges such as my parent's education in Mexico not transferring over to the United States. As my parents, specifically my mom, was lost in not knowing how to make up for this gap, Delta reached out a hand and helped my mom take her education to the next level once more. My mom got her degree at Delta which helped her get a job in social work. My sibling was another member of my immediate family who has been graced by Delta's help, as they were able to transfer off to UCLA after 2 great years at Delta. Furthermore with the case of my sibling, they served as the Vice-President of ASDC during the pandemic, and I would love to both follow in their foot steps as well as serve the community as it's helped us.

With the duties and responsibilities in mind, explain your ability to commit to being an ASDC Officer?
I am ready to commit to being an ASDC Officer, as I'm ready to have this be my priority over the next two years. Currently I am already involved on campus through clubs as well as being the Vice-President of the ICC (representing AGS). I will also have an abundance of free time especially in the upcoming semesters as due to my dual enrollment and AP credits, I have flexibility in my schedule. No work will prove to be too arduous for me as I understand that if I become a part of the ASDC, I have to strive to go above and beyond my duties as well as responsibilities.

Why are you interested in becoming an ASDC Officer?
As a current club president, I see firsthand how campus policies and ASDC decisions directly impact student life and student-led organizations. My motivation for running for Senator-at-Large stems from a desire to bridge the gap between grassroots student clubs and central student government. I want to bring my hands-on leadership experience to the table to ensure our weekly voting and policy debates genuinely support campus engagement.

The Senator-at-Large role perfectly matches my collaborative mindset. It isn’t boxed into one narrow set of tasks such as it requires a team player who can step up and elevate anyone’s project at a moment's notice. Because I already navigate the challenges of organizing events and managing budgets within my own club, I can offer unique, practical insights when the ASDC reviews policies, sets the yearly agenda, or votes on campus initiatives. Ultimately, I want to use my experience to build a more connected, resource-rich, and thriving campus culture for all students.

With the duties and responsibilities in mind, explain your ability to commit to being an ASDC Officer?
Managing my own club has taught me the exact time-management, organization, and accountability skills needed to balance multiple high-stakes commitments. I have already structured my upcoming schedule to ensure my club duties never conflict with my absolute priority for ASDC obligations, keeping my calendar entirely clear for our mandatory Monday afternoon board meetings.
