The South Campus at Mountain House project is the construction of an approximately 50,000 square-foot building. This building will house current and future activities, with future growth in mind. We are excited to see this long-awaited project come to fruition!
About 'Design-Build'
Design-Build, also known as "Progressive Design-Build" (PBD), is a two-phase delivery method where owners select a design-builder based on qualifications, not just price, to collaboratively define, design, and price a project, establishing a guaranteed maximum price. This approach reduces risk, encourages innovation, allows for early construction work packages, and enables higher owner control over the final design!

The Board of Trustees selected local Stockton firm Derivi Castellanos Architects (DCA) to collaborate with staff in the development of the criteria documents for this project.
The Board of Trustees identified the Mountain House permanent building as a priority for the first phase of Measure K implementation. We are excited to deliver on this long-held promise to the south county!
Next Steps
A series of meetings will be organized in February 2026 with the project stakeholders to discuss the program requirements associated with the project. Simultaneously, staff will collaborate with our Purchasing Department to formalize and distribute the Request for Qualifications (RFQ) in order to identify a qualified design-build entity.
