The Cisco Networking Academy Program is a partnership between Cisco Systems, education business, government, and community organizations around the world. The Networking Academy curriculum centers on teaching students to design, build and maintain computer networks. The program prepares students for the 21st century workplace, while serving as a valuable model for e-learning. In preparation for the CCNA, San Joaquin Delta College offers the following courses which must be taken in sequence. Most IT departments currently have a person responsible for administering the network. This person may carry different titles such as Network Manager, Network Technician, Network Adminstrator, and so on. It doesn't matter what the title is, they all must know basic networking. The Cisco Certified Networking Associate allows the studetns to enter this area as well as upgrading skills of those who already work in the industry. IT departments may be found in county offices, hospitals, school districts, etc.. Many of these employers are in great need of people networking knowledge and skills. It is important to note that these classes can be used to prepare for the Comp TIA's Network+ Certification. There are other IT classes students can take to upgrade their skills and / or prepare for other industry certifications. To learn more about this program you can call the Division office or refer to the catalog and / or the current schedule of classes. |
