Cooperative Agencies Resources for Education (CARE)

The CARE Program (Cooperative Agencies Resources for Education) is an affiliate program of EOPS designed to support the special needs of a single parent recipient of AFDC, TANF, or CalWORKS, 18 years of age or older, head of household, with one or more children, 13 years of age or younger.

IMPORTANT CARE ALERT!!

(For Eligible Continuing CARE Students)

Deadline for submission of your current Passport to Services is by 12:00 p.m. Noon, Friday, February 5, 2010.
Passport to Services must be submitted prior to receiving any CARE services.
Distribution of Bus Passes, Parking Permits and Meal Cards will begin, Monday, January 25, 2010, if you have submitted your Passport to Services and qualify for the CARE Program.
December Meal Cards were due to be returned the first week of the Spring 2010 semester.
December Meal Cards must be returned prior to issuance of your January/February Meal Card.

C.A.R.E. Continuing Student Orientations

Below you will find a list on mandatory C.A.R.E. Continuing Student Orientations. Because of limited seating you will need to sign up for the Orientation that you would like to attend. QUALIFICATIONS

Be eligible for EOPS.
Be 18 years of age or older.
Be a single parent/head of household.
Custodial parent of one or more children, 13 years old or younger.
At least one dependent child is a current recipient of AFDC/TANF/ CalWorks cash aid.
Be enrolled in 12 more units each semester (Waiver available).
Enrolled in an educational program of study leading to a vocational/technical training certificate, associate degree, or university transfer program.
Enroll in the required CARE Guidance course scheduled for the current semester. (If you are enrolled in the CARE Guidance course you are exempt from the EOPS Student Success Workshop requirement only for the semester you are enrolled in the CARE Guidance class).
