Upon successful completion of the Caterpillar Dealer Service Technician AS Degree Apprenticeship program, the apprentice will be prepared for completion of the related and supplemental instruction component of the State approved San Joaquin Valley Automotive Technician Apprenticeship Program. The apprentice is awarded a Journey Level Certificate from the State Division of Apprenticeship Standards upon completion of 7600 hours of On-The-Job training and satisfactory employer reports. The apprentices are qualified to perform service, maintenance, repairs and troubleshooting of diesel engines, transmissions, drive trains, transaxles, brakes, suspensions, steering systems, charging systems, electrical systems, electronic engine controls, fuel management controls, computer control systems and air conditioning systems on Caterpillar tractors and heavy equipment.
