Drop-In meetings are for quick questions and limited to services that typically take 10-15 minutes to answer and may include the following: 

  • Course Repeat Petitions, 
  • ASEP (1 semester education plan) 
  • Applications for AA/AS degree 

Meetings are on a first come, first served basis and depend on counselor availability. If you are unable to see a counselor for a drop-in we recommend to schedule an appointment or try another day. Appointments are available if you need more time. The following topics require a scheduled appointment (these cannot be addressed during a Drop-In appointment): 

  • Financial Aid Appeals 
  • International Student Services 
  • Academic/Progress Probation 
  • Transfer Agreements 
  • Veteran Services

Step 2
Wait for the Next Available Counseling Staff Member
A staff member will invite you to check-in. They will add you to the drop-in screen. You will be taken to a "waiting room" for the next available counselor to meet with you. Do not close the window or leave the waiting room or you will be disconnected.
Step 3
Meet with a Counselor
A counseling staff member will pull you into our virtual counseling office, you do not need to do anything. Thank you in advance for your patience as our staff work as fast as possible to connect you to our counseling services.

Schedule Zoom Appointments 

  1. Counselors are not assigned to specific groups of students. 
  2. You can select from any counselor when you schedule an appointment. 
  3. Please plan to log-in to your zoom appointment 15 minutes prior to the time scheduled. This will give you time to make sure your technology is working properly and that you are in the waiting room when the counselor is ready to invite you into their zoom room. It is important that you are on time because the counselor will not be able to accept appointments that are more than 5 minutes late.
    • ​​If you specifically requested to be contacted by phone, your counselor will call the number you provided at the schedule time. 
  4.  If you need to reschedule or cancel an appointment, please go online as soon as possible. 
  5. If you are a student in the EOPS/CARE or DSPS program, you will need to contact their office directly to schedule an appointment with your counselor.

  • For questions that are not appropriate for online responses, please make an appointment to meet with a counselor
