Pedro L. Ramirez attended Fresno State University as an EOPS student and holds both a B. A. and M. A. from San Francisco State University. Since 1991, Pedro has been teaching at Delta where he taught in the Migrant Transition Program working with at-risk youth, but presently Pedro has transferred into the English Department, teaching English 1A, 1B, 1D, English 79, English 44A and 44B. He is also the English instructor in the Puente Program. A founding member of Cultural Awareness Programs (CAP), Pedro is dedicated to promoting diversity on the Delta campus. Pedro has published poetry in Iowa Review, Blue Unicorn, La Opinion of Los Angeles, Sentimientos del Valle, and many other professional journals. A native of Fresno, Pedro began his teaching career at Fresno State University and Fresno City College. He credits the rich creative writing community there for inspiring him to write and teach. Pedro is presently teaching Chicano Literature, English 35, and Poetry Writing, English 44C, and publishes a semester magazine which is student generated. He has worked as a farm worker, janitor, and a gas station attendant. He loves working with students.
