Center for Microscopy and Allied Sciences
|On February 10, 2010 the College received approval for a 1% loan from the California Energy Commission to install a variable air volume system and advanced control system to regulate the airflow in the building more efficiently. The installation of this new system is projected to save the college money in energy costs and reduce its carbon emissions by 577 tons. [Click Here to Read Press Release]|
DeRicco Student Services Building
Funded by a Measure L Bond, the DeRicco Student Services Building is a "One-Stop-Shop" for students that opened its doors on September 29, 2009.
New Data Center
Funded by the Measure L Bond, the new Data Center will house Information Services, Information Technology and the Video Audio Departments with the goal of improving and expanding technology services provided for the College. Project team members responsible for this project are LEED Accredited Professionals who have included several sustainable features in the design of this center. These sustainable features include: a cool roofing, interior and exterior light pollution reduction, water efficient landscaping, water use reduction, optimized energy performance, improved indoor environmental quality (use of low-emitting materials [e.g. carpeting, paints, cabinetry]), and controllability of lighting and thermal systems.
