Why Choose Our Academy?
The Delta College Basic Peace Officer Academy mission is to prepare students mentally, morally, emotionally and physically to perform the duties of a peace officer. Rigorous training and testing ensures that each student graduates with demonstrated character, knowledge of the law, problem-solving abilities, human relations, communication and physical skills needed to meet the professional standards of a peace officer. Discipline is an essential component of the Academy program to help students develop the attitudes and behaviors demanded of peace officers by the public that they serve.
The POST Academy is certified by the Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) to present a basic course to peace officers and pre-service students who qualify for program admission.
