Delta College Softball is a member of the very competitive Big 8 Conference.  In the past nine seasons, the Lady Mustangs have won conference championship 4 times, competed in the State Tournament 3 times earning 4th  and 5th places, seven players earned All-American and three All-State honors.

2009 Mustang Transfers

Angelique Macias is offered a scholarship to Sonoma State.

Jessica Hernandez signed with William Jessup University.

Jennifer Costa & Stephanie Jones sign with Mid-America Nazarene University.


2009 Season Highlights & Awards

Delta comes in 2nd place in the Big Eight.

Alaina Shull earned 1st Team all Conference.

Angelique Macias earned 2nd Team All Conference.

Jennifer Costa is voted All-American by the NFCA.

Jennifer Costa repeats Nor-Cal Utility.

Jessica Flores earned Honorable Mention Utility.

Cecily Sammons and Britany Williams received 1st Base.





3-17-09 Delta beats ARC 8-0 behind Alaina Shull's second no-hitter of league play.

3-12-09 At Pleasant Hill, Jennifer Costa throws a 2-hit shut out beating Diablo Valley College 3-0.

3-10-09 Delta defeats Santa Rosa College 8-1.

3-5-09 Barely beating darkness, Delta defeats Consumnes River 3-2 with 12 innings.

3-4-09 Delta Softball topples Sierra College 1-zip in the Big 8 Conference opener. Cecily Sammons hit a solo home run in the 3rd inning, and Alaina Shull makes it stand by throwing a no-hitter.

Elise Fry & Jennifer Costa earned Delta's first combined no-hitter of the year against Lassen College.



Jennifer Costa returns this season after earning 2008 All Nor-Cal Utility last softball season. 



On October 25th, 2008 San Joaquin Delta College Softball program held it’s very first alumni softball game. About 15 former mustang players showed up to play a game against current softball players. The game featured players that earned a softball scholarship after playing for Delta College. The game also featured two Mustang transfers, Gwen Arafiles who competed at University of California Berkeley, along with Meghan Dyer who attended The University of Utah.

The Delta Softball Team begins play in 2009 on its newly renovated synthetic FIELDturf facility.  The field features  44 ft. dugouts, handicapped seating, 500 bleacher seats, 2 visitor bullpens, 2 home bullpens, 2 batting tunnels with pitching machines, and a powerful watering system which is used to cool the turf on those hot days.
