The Department of Music at SJDC offers scholarships in the form of a registration fee waiver for the academic year.
Who is eligible
New students to San Joaquin Delta College enrolling for the 2018-19 Academic Year, and any current music major at Delta College in their first year of study. All applicants must have a GPA of 3.0 or better.
What to do to apply
Recipients must successfully complete the attached application, submit a Letter of Intent regarding their career goals (250 words or less, typed), submit a copy of transcripts, and perform a live audition.

How the scholarship works
Scholarships are funded at the end of each semester. Students must pay their tuition up front. Reimbursement will be for a maximum of 18 units. Students on scholarship must maintain enrollment in Music 003 (Theory); Music 040 (Applied Music); and Music 017 (Concert Choir), or Music 026 (Symphonic Band), or Music 029 (Jazz Band). Students must also enroll in at least TWO general education courses per semester. All students on Scholarship must complete at least 16 units each semester with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 for the scholarship to be paid/funded at the end of each semester. The award will be revoked if conditions are not maintained. Recipients will need to reapply for the scholarship each year and are limited to four semesters.
