Matthew Wetstein/Candidate for President
The college is in a period of dynamic change. The college will experience significant turn-over in the next few months and years in critical leadership posts. In the midst of this change, the college is embarking on an expensive building campaign that will expand our facilities in new locations, and revitalize segments of the Stockton campus. In recognition of this period of change, I would like to serve as a president of the association in order to ensure that faculty leadership remains committed and involved in the betterment of the college, and to continue the legacy of sound and dedicated stewardship that Joe Gonzales and his predecessors have brought to SJDCTA.

My goals as president include the following:

* to serve as a prominent voice of faculty concerns in various college committees and community forums
* to demand accountability for college spending practices and to push for the wise management of resources
* to work collaboratively with the negotiating team to bring a new contract to settlement
* to protect the wages, benefits, and working conditions of faculty, librarians and counselors
* to learn as much as I can about statewide issues that impact faculty rights
* to foster a relationship of trust and open dialogue with other associations at Delta College (CSEA & POA)
* to communicate regularly with the SJDCTA membership about issues of concern
* to have fun and learn from you how to make Delta College a better place of learning

I have served the college in a number of capacities to prepare myself for this service. I list some of those activities below, and I trust you will honor me with your support in the election.
