Spring 2012 Semester January 17- May 24, 2012 Important Student Participation Notification

Application Deadline: Friday, January 27, 2012

Due to the diminished number of resources (courses offered, Work Experience Instructor availability), students who are interested in participating in the Work Experience Program must be aware of the following requirements:

1. The participating student must be employed with an organization either as a paid or non-paid employee prior to submission of Student Application Packet.

The student must find his/her own employment. 

This program is not Federal Work Study.

2. The participating student must be enrolled in a SJDC course or courses for the Spring 2012 semester, including late starting courses. The student must be on the officially enrolled in the course; the wait list does not meet the requirement.

If the student has any unpaid fees or registration issues which would delay enrollment into the program, Student Application Packet will automatically be disqualified.

If a student is unable to complete the average number of hours per week, the student will not earn the unit(s) requested from the program. Please review your employment schedule prior to submission and discuss the requirement with your supervisor.

Application acceptance & student participation pending Work Experience Instructor availability AND employment falling within the designated areas available.

To be eligible for participation in the Work Experience program, the student must complete the following requirements BEFORE the start of the Spring 2012 semester, January 17, 2012:

• MUST BE employment with an organization either as a paid employment or unpaid / volunteer employment status prior to submitting Student Application Packet.
• The program does not find employment for the students.
• Must be enrolled in course(s) at San Joaquin Delta College for the participating semester, including late starting courses prior to submitting Student Application Packet. 
• Any student on the wait list is not considered officially enrolled.
• Submit all Student Application packet forms and required assignments with supervisor's signature to Holt 140 or mail application packet to the following address:

FAXED application forms or required student assignments will not be accepted.

• Unpaid fees or registration issues from a previous semester that delay student enrollment will automatically disqualify the student from participating in the Work Experience program.

NOTE:

• If you do not meet the above requirements by before the start of the Spring 2012 semester, January 17, 2012 your application packet for Work Experience will be denied.
