General Meeting

 

 

Trevor – President called the meeting to order at 4:00 PM

 

Board Members Present:  Trevor Gatz –President, Elizabeth Godoy –Vice President, Margaret Noeske –Secretary, Osman Aslam –Treasurer, Katy Isbell –Publicist, Lakia Roe –Historian, Yeva Swanner –Activities Director, and Dr. Elizabeth Maloney –Advisor.

 

General Members & Public Present:  Susan Ray, Linda Thomas, Kevin Mak, Deborah Lee, Stephanie Forture, Teresa Narez, Maryann Sandoval, Jose Garza, Nakia Smith, Delores Sellers, Curtis Pollard, Brian Ratto, Celestia Leon, Nicole Paiste, Mark Murphy, Martha Limon, Alisha Miller, Lien Nguyen, Anthony Tacardon, Christopher Smith.

 

Approval of Agenda:  Margaret motioned to approve the agenda for today’s meeting; Katy second’s the motion; no discussion/all in favor/none opposed; motion carried.

 

Approval of Previous Minutes: Katy motioned to approve the previous minutes; Elizabeth second’s the motion; no discussion/all in favor/none opposed; motion carried.

6.0 Trivia: Dr. Elizabeth Maloney presented Delta Psi trivia; 1st question was answered correctly by Linda Thomas; 2nd question not answered by public/answer given; 3rd question was answered correctly by Susan Ray; 4th question was answered correctly by Linda Thomas; 5th question was answered correctly by Nicole Paiste; and bonus question was answered correctly by Linda Thomas.

 

7.0 Theme – Depression: Dr. Maloney discussed general information and myths/facts on Depression and a handout was given.

 

8.0 Old Business:

              8.1 Psycho Theater – Primal Fear; great turn out and Delta Psi earned $187.45.

              8.2 Backpack Raffle – prize was won by Steven Brush.

              8.3 Bean Festival – review of information and members encouraged to volunteer time for booth help; sign ups with Yeva and Katy.

 

9.0 New Business:

              9.1 Psycho Theater – September; precious movie suggestions were reviewed, new suggestions are Hideous Kinky (Brian), Donnie Darko, and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (Alicia). A vote by majority elected Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless mind.  Nicole will lend the movie on 9/25.

 

10.0 Raffle:  (148) Martha, (145) Tyrianna, (150) Anthony, (139) Dolores, (138) Nickia, (142) Celestia.

 

11.0 Comments from the Public: Linda reminded everyone about the Welcome Back BBQ and Divided We Fall on 9/11. Brian spoke on Smashing Ceiling Concert on 9/18.  Alisha is coordinating the Jamba Juice fundraising. Linda requested September calendar.
