L.E.A.D

Take your college experience to new heights

L.E.A.D is a leadership development program designed to recruit, select, and train student representatives to serve on shared governance committees.

Currently there are 18 shared governance committees that student representatives can serve on to represent the student body. The ASBG is looking to fill 33 vacant positions.

Representative Responsibilities

Being a student representative is a big responsibility; it requires time, commitment, and consistent follow through. Some expectations include but are not limited to: attending all assigned committee meetings, mandatory trainings and meetings; submitting reports to the ASBG; and representing the interests of the student body and the ASBG on all college matters.

Selection Process

Candidates will be selected by a committee that includes: two representatives from the ASBG, the Director of Student Activities, one Faculty member, and one Classified staff member. The committee will make recommendations to the ASBG Vice President of Student Affairs for approval.

Qualifications

  1. Students interested in participating in the L.E.A.D program must be enrolled in a minimum of five semester units and have a minimum GPA of 2.0.
  2. Students must be in good standing with the college. Students on academic or progress probation and/or disciplinary probation at the time of application, DO NOT qualify to apply for the L.E.A.D program.
