14.1 Professional Development Leave The District shall offer
opportunities for professional growth for employees in the classified
service in accordance with the staff development program currently
in effect.
14.1.1 Three classified staff members nominated by CSEA shall
serve on the Staff Development Committee. Other members
of this committee shall be nominated by the Academic
Senate, the Classified Senate, and SJDCTA. Administrators
shall be appointed by the Superintendent/President. The
purpose of this committee is to review the needs of the total
staff as regards individual staff development. The
committee shall develop recommendations related to a staff
development program for Delta College and advise the
College President on any specially funded staff development
projects.
14.1.2 All classified personnel shall be eligible to apply for and
participate in approved staff development opportunities
designed to improve performance of employees and to
provide training for employees to gain new skills and
abilities; to broaden their opportunity for promotion or
absorption into other classifications; to engage in study and
related activities designed to retain and extend the high
standards of the employee and the College.
