The Digital Drop Box

The Digital Drop Box is used to exchange materials such as Research Reports between individual Students and the Instructor. Start by composing your reports on Microsoft Word. Use one document for all your reports. There should be 4-7 reports, all on one document. Be sure to use the Spelling and Grammer Checker under the Tools Menu. Save your work in the .doc format, the .txt format or .RFT format. Save your work to your computer's desktop with one of those extensions. Click on the Drop Box & Grades button on the main course menu to get here.

The Digital Drop Box link in the above illustration works. Read the rest of this page and then go ahead and click on it .

Note: It is a good idea to also save the document somewhere else on your computer until the semester ends. That way you have a copy on your computer just in case.

Click on Add File and fill out the form on screen. Give your work a Title. The type of assignment with your nameis good; for example, JohnDoeResearch Reports. Click on the Browse button and choose your document on your desktop. Add any comments in the Comments section. Finally click the submit button.

The Blackboard Manual says, "Adding a file to the Digital Drop Box does not send it," to anyone. You still must send it with the Send File button on the main Drop Box page. Click on the Send File button and fill out the resulting form. It will automatically go to the Instructor.
