Writing Outlines for VHS Presentations

Do's & Don'ts

1. Don't write complete sentences - it takes too long and takes up too much space.
2. Do use key words and phrases that will make sense later when you read the outline.
3. Do write clearly - although don't worry about spelling.
4. Do use both sides of the paper and 4 columns - 2 on each side
5. Do put your lab start time NOT your lecture time on the outline. (Summer students, just write summer)
6. Don't waste space on each side of the page.
7. Do indent slightly with each category.
