This is the final lecture for Examination #3. This two-part lecture will discuss the adaptations that water plants had to make in order to move onto the land. Next, the kingdom will be broken down into two main taxons, Subkingdom Thallophyta, and Subkingdom Embryophyta.

Obviously, it will be necessary to understand the differences between monocots and dicots to do this. Hint: begin to work one or two labs ahead so that you are never caught behind. Consult Figure 31.2 "A comparison of monocots and dicots" on page 621 in the textbook. The Spring is an excellent time to easily find monocot and dicots in profusion. The Fall semester makes it a little more of a challenge.
