Communications
1.Public Comments
Student Susan Tighe thanked the Board regarding their
decision to rescind the recommendation of dismissal of the
Student Activities Director. Ms. Tighe inquired about the core
plan for Delta College and when that plan will be made
available.
Bob Hailey informed the Board that he, along with other
NAACP Presidents around the state, went to the State Capitol
on Monday to lobby in support of funding for community
colleges. Mr. Hailey inquired about the fundraising efforts of
the college. Mr. Hailey requested an update be given on
fundraising at the next meeting. Mr. Hailey inquired about the
lease property across the campus on Pershing Ave. He
indicated the college would save money if the contract was
terminated and staff currently occupying the site, be brought
back to the main campus where there is empty space available.
Mr. Hailey indicated that the morale in the maintenance
department is at its lowest and suggested to the Board that the
supervisory/management positions in that department need to
be reexamined.
