MINUTES OF THE REGULAR BOARD MEETING
Tuesday, October 15, 2002

The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the San Joaquin Delta Community College District was held on Tuesday, October 15, 2002, at 5:45 p.m. Closed Session and 6:30 p.m. Public Meeting, in the Board Room, Administration 103, 5151 Pacific Ave., Stockton, California.

Members Present:

Greg McCreary, President; Dan S. Parises, Vice-President; Anthony E. Bugarin, Clerk; Leo Burke; Janet Rivera; Maria Elena Serna; Ted Simas; Jacob Lethbridge, Student Trustee

Called to Order
The Board meeting was called to order at 5:45 p.m. by Board President Greg McCreary.

Recess to Closed Session
Trustee Simas moved and seconded by Trustee Bugarin to recess to Closed Session to discuss matters pursuant to Government Code Sections 54957 and 54957.6 and Education Code Sections 76030 and 66017. Vote: 6/0; motion carried. (Trustee Rivera arrived after the vote was taken.)

Reconvene Public Session
On voice vote, Board President McCreary reconvened the meeting at 6:30 p.m. with the following action to report:

Following a review of all materials and certifying that due process procedures have been followed, the Board of Trustees has determined that it is in the best interest of the District that the student recommended for expulsion, pursuant to Education Code Sections 76030 and 66017, be expelled from the San Joaquin Delta College District. Vote: 7/0;motion carried.

Pledge of Allegiance
Trustee Bugarin lead the Pledge of Allegiance.
