Student Conduct & Standards of Discipline San Joaquin Delta College's Board of Trustees is committed to ensuring the safety of faculty, classified staff members and students. The college is also committed to providing students with a safe learning environment and believes that each student has an obligation to observe the college's standards of conduct and regulations. Therefore, in accordance with Education Code 66300, 66301, 66017, and 76030, the following consists of policies related to student conduct and implementation of discipline. To ensure due process, hearing procedures have also been established to address student misconduct. Board Policy 5500 Student Conduct and Standards of Discipline Administrative Procedure 5500 Standards of Student Conduct To report violations of the Student Conduct and Standards of Discipline, the link to the form is provided below: San Joaquin Delta College Report Form Safety of the campus population is of utmost importance. If there is a serious threat of violence, or behavior which causes a student to fear for their safety, call campus police at ext. 5000. For questions regarding the college's policy on misconduct, please call ext. 5005. |
Disciplinary Process and Hearing Procedures Per AP 5520: "The purpose of this procedure is to provide a prompt and equitable means to address student misconduct. This procedure shall be implemented in a manner providing students with all due process rights to which they are entitle under state and federal law." |
Student Rights and Grievances Per BP 5530: Students shall be entitled to seek redress over improper District decisions and actions that are contrary to District policies, procedures or laws, and that adversely affect a student’s status, rights or privileges. This policy does not entitle students to seek redress over student disciplinary actions, which are covered under separate Board Policies and Administrative Procedures. This policy does not entitle students to seek redress over police citations for moving traffic violations; such complaints be directed to the local county court in the same manner as any traffic violation.
This policy shall not be used to redress student complaints regarding the individual conduct of others, including harassment, or complaints of discrimination.
